Last Friday, I had the pleasure of DJing an unforgettable wedding at the stunning La Petite Chapelle in Innerkip. This venue, a beautifully restored old church, provided the perfect backdrop for a day that seamlessly transitioned from relaxed elegance to a full-on party.

A Venue with Character

The couple chose La Petite Chapelle for its unique charm. The venue, once a church, has been expertly converted into a wedding destination that retains its historical allure while offering modern conveniences—well, mostly! While I was blown away by the space and the incredibly helpful staff, I did notice one minor drawback: no elevator or ramp for loading in gear. That said, the effort was well worth it!

Setting the Mood

The day kicked off with a laid-back, friendly atmosphere, reflecting the couple’s easy-going nature. As guests admired the venue’s architectural details and mingled, I started with a soundtrack that matched the vibe—disco, Motown, and 80s pop filled the air. The soft lighting from my 10 uplights added to the cozy, welcoming environment.

But once the dance floor opened, the real party began. The couple had requested a “club-style” experience for the evening, and that’s exactly what we delivered. With my Rane One controller and EV speakers, I turned up the energy, shifting the music into more contemporary Top 40, hip-hop, dance hits, and some crowd-pleasing 2000s throwbacks. The DJ lights brought that nightclub atmosphere to life, and the dance floor quickly became the heart of the celebration.

A Night to Remember

The highlight of the night was the incredible energy from the guests. Everyone was dancing and singing along to their favorite tunes, and the bride herself told me afterward that her feet hurt from dancing so much. Hearing that she received so many compliments on the music made the night even more special for me.
