My Experience 

I have had the PTU-71 for several seasons. I like the all metal construction, the easy to use autscan feature, the amazing sound you get for the price. I have however had a few drop-outs when i’m within an all congrete and glass enclosure do to the nature of how radio frequencies travel. That being said, outside, I have never had a dropout and the audio quality is always excellent.

My Experience

I had a good friend of mine lend me his PTU-2U for a few weeks while he was on vacation. Like the PTU-71, I found it really easy to use and super intuitive for anyone that’s had any experience using wireless microphones. Due to the “True diversity circuitry” I didn’t experience any drop-outs at all. That being said this gig I took it to was an old beer brewery what was build from wood and glass, I’m not sure it would’ve been as stable in a concrete building.
